Art students exhibit at Sotheby’s Milano
Seven art students, in their final year at the Sir James Henderson School in Milan, had the exciting opportunity to display their work for the International Baccalaureate Visuals Arts Examination in an exhibition held at Sotheby’s Milano on 28 March. The pieces on display demonstrated a high level of personal growth over a period of 19 months of study, and some of the final works exhibited in the impressive gallery at Sotheby’s were outstanding.
The event attracted approximately 350 guests at the opening cocktail, held in Palazzo Broggi, Milan.
This was the second Sir James Henderson IB Art Exhibition in collaboration with Sotheby’s. It is because of events of this nature that so many Sir James Henderson students are now involved in Art and Design-related careers throughout the world.
The Sir James Henderson School was founded in 1969 by British parents who wanted to provide a British education for their children in Milan. Sir James Henderson, after whom the school is named, founded the first Rotary Club in Italy.
For the last 40 years the Sir James Henderson School has aspired to achieve excellence in all areas of the English curriculum, and it has an established reputation for the quality of the art work produced by its students. This event also saw the participation of Sotheby’s, the British Chamber of Commerce for Italy, and the British Council, as well as the Parents and Friends of Sir James Henderson School.
