Documentation Center for Visual Arts

This organization dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art has existed in Milan since 1994. Run in partnership with the city council, it has a library with art books available for consultation in the DOCVA reading room, with much material online. Artists can present their own work and will receive professional feedback from DOCVA curators. The centre also organizes lectures and educational activities. In March 2012, DOCVA reached an agreement with Milan’s modern art museum, Museo del Novecento, and as a result, visitors can explore a vast amount of documentary material, including 25,000 books on 20th and 21st century art, 6,000 videos, 16,000 images of works by the 3,600 artists in the data base, and information on organizations and colleges for young artists. A video jukebox presents interviews and videos on important exhibitions from the 1990s until today. For further info, see www.docva.org/english/home.html
